The Buttonwood Farm focuses on heritage breeds of livestock including Randall and Milking Devon cattle, Suffolk Punch draft horses, Tamworth swine, Leicester Longwool sheep, Oberhasli and San Clemente goats and Dominique chickens.  The Zoo has an active breeding program and is working with organizations like The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy (ALBC), Heritage Breeds Conservancy (HBC), The Randall Cattle Registry Inc. and the SVF Foundation to preserve these important breeds.  The Buttonwood Park Zoo is proud to be a member of the ALBC, HBC, the Leicester Longwool Sheep Breeders Association, the American Suffolk Horse Association, and the Tamworth Swine Association.
